Interests
My recent research interest focuses on reasons for the underrepresentation of women in science. I have conducted several studies on this topic (see my publication list).
Grants
and Consulting
• From 2000-2005 I was Principal Investigator on a
$428,367 grant from the National Science Foundation for the
proposal "Predictors of Women's Interest and Retention in
Undergraduate IT Majors". Results of the studies can be

• I have served on the advisory board of another NSF
grant.
• I have participated in NSF site visits of
multi-million dollar grants and served as panelist for NSF on several occasions. I have also reviewed seed grants for the National Center for Women in IT.
• As a consultant I conducted a gender climate study
and wrote an official report for a private liberal arts
college.
• I also served as a consultant to increase the recruitment and retention of women at a Computer Science department
at a private liberal arts
college.
• I have served as a consultant for members of the National Center for Women in IT.
• I served as advisor and mentor for a team of Physics instructors to increase awareness of gender issues at the Curricular Reform Institute, Oshkosh, WI.
