| Project Background | SEWPA is a fast-growing non-profit that provides arts education and performance opportunities to young people in southeastern Wisconsin. It started 5 years ago with Opera ala Carte and has steadily added other programs such as a summer Fine Arts Camp and Dickens Christmas Caroling, with future plans for a Childrens Choir and Youth Ballet. SEWPA accomplishes all of this with a staff of seasonal employees and volunteers. |
| Project #1 Description | Seasonal Hires -- 4 teachers for Fine Arts Camp, Assistant Music Director (accompanist), Stage Director, 2nd Assistant Music Director, Musicians -- refine job descriptions and employment contracts, conduct interviews and background checks |
| Project #2 Description | Volunteers -- students, families and others -- develop formal job descriptions for desired activities (e.g., sewing costumes, building sets - measurable behaviors) and a recruiting plan to fill the positions (timeline, sources, methods) |
| Deliverables | These projects will function more like internships. The teams will be responsible for providing ongoing support to the Artistic Director throughout the semester, as various staffing needs arise, and written plans will be prepared for the Director as appropriate. |
| When you must be available (do not sign up for this project if you cannot make this commitment) | Project #2 - Saturday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 25 at 6 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church (map) (assist with Opera ala Carte and Fine Arts Camp parents meetings) |
