SPRING SEMESTER 2010:
Piano Duet and Duo Literature and Performance taught by
James and Susan McKeever (McKeever Piano Duo)

Thursday mornings from January 21, 2010 to May 6, 2010
Study of the literature and pedagogy of duets and two piano music.
Playing together, sharing notes, position at the keyboard, balance, pedaling,
and teaching strategies.

 There will opportunities to form “class member” duo teams, who will play for the class and be coached. 

Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:45am in Room L105 of the Communication Arts building, UW-Parkside, starting January 21, 2010.  Available for two academic credits or on a fee basis.

The McKeever Duo has been performing for thirty years, and have presented concerts and masterclasses throughout the Midwest.  Their extensive repertoire includes works from the 18th through the 20th century, and includes works for for both four hands and two pianos.

This is a one-time course, finally being offered after twenty years of requests!

Spring Semester 2009: We have an often requested seminar this semester:  Piano Literature and Performance Practice of the Impressionistic Period.  We will examine the piano works of Debussy, Ravel, Charles Griffes, and other composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We will cover style, tempo, rhythm, articulation, phrasing, structure, rubato, dynamics, expression, ornamentation, and of course pedaling.  We hope you can join us for this exciting class!  We meet Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:45 in room L105, starting January 22nd.  Please contact Dr. James Mckeever for more info: 262 595-2562
