Martindale's Reference Desk: Chemistry Center : From the University of California, Irvine we have a site that provides extensive links over a wide range of topics.

Facultes Universitaires Notre-Dame De La Paix - Chemical Java Applications : The Applets are in English.  This site provides links to sites in London, Zurich, and the USA.

Table of the Nuclides : This is from "The Department of Advanced Technology is one of the largest scientific departments at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Chemicool Periodic Table : This jazzy site was developed by David Hsu who is currently a grad student in chemical engineering at U.C. Berkeley. If you want the information but don't want to wait for David's page to load then I suggest the Periodic Table of the Elements from the University of British Columbia.

Library of 3-D Molecular Structures : The MathMol library contains 3-D structures for many molecules discussed in introductory biology and chemistry textbooks. 

The IAP/TU Wien STM Gallery : "An atomic-scale view of surfaces: Some of the finest scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) images of metal surfaces, obtained by the surface physics group at the Institut für Allgemeine Physik, TU Wien, Austria."

Internet Connections for Engineering : The purpose of the ICE Project is to provide a broad catalog of Internet-based engineering resources to allow engineers,

The Institution of Electrical Engineers : This site from the UK links to Engineering and IT related WWW sites.

Draw Mohr's Circle : This Java applet is used to draw any Mohr's circle for 2D stress analysis, given any set of stresses : sigma_x, sigma_y, and tau_xy.

Language Arts Resources : This site has multiple links but you must carefully sort through them.  I am not sure who the authors intended audience is (all educators) but the two links that follow came from this site, so it is worth a look.

University of Pennsylvania - Digital Library Project : This site offers full text as well as other items that may be of interest such as BANNED BOOKS ON-LINE.

The Internet Public Library : One item of interest; this site has online newspapers from around the world.   Their mission: "We are committed to providing free services to the Internet community, in the greatest tradition of public libraries."

Diversity & Ethnic Studies: Virtual Community : A wonderful comprehensive site from the Iowa State University.  "The primary focus of this Web site is to provide links to African American, American Indian, Asian American, and U.S. Latino resources, along with links to resources on often-overlooked minorities such as lesbians, bisexuals, and gays."  I found a full text version of the first issue of the Journal of Negro Education published in April 1932.

American Memory : This site from the Library of Congress features over 70 collections
with searching capability. It also has a "Learning Page" section organized by the following topics:

WWW-VL History: Central Catalogue : A site with extensive links from the University of Kansas.  Topic headers are: Research: Methods and Materials and By Countries and Regions. 

The University of Kansas History Group : This page from the University of Kansas is a link from the site above and  offers the following topics: WORLD-WIDE WEB VIRTUAL LIBRARY SITES, KANSAS HERITAGE SITES, DISCUSSION LIST ARCHIVES, WORLD NEWS, and DISCUSSION LIST CATALOGUES. 

EDSITEment : EDSITEment is the product of a partnership forged in Spring 1997 among the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Council of the Great City
Schools, MCI WorldCom and the National Trust for the Humanities.

Columbia University's Asian Topics : It is an interesting site regarding site design.  The a multimedia site with audio, images, and video (which never worked for me) along with  text and other references.  Worth a look.

The Virtual Mathematics Center : From the University of California, Irvine we have a site that provides extensive links over a wide range of topics.

The Math Forum's Internet Mathematics Library : This page is organized using the following topics: Mathematics (curricular) Topics, Resource Types, Mathematics Education Topics, and Education Level.  The site indicates that "more than 60 Math Library sites were added and over 70 more were updated during April of 2000."

Mathematics & Statistics Sources - UCSB Library : Multiple links page from U.C. Santa Barbara including the following topics: internet megasites, e-journals, organizations & associations, reference resources, and biographical & historical sources.

Favorite Mathematical Constants : Impressive site from Steven Finch with the  Research and Development Team, MathSoft, Inc. "All numbers are not created equal; that certain constants appear at all and then echo throughout mathematics, in seemingly independent ways, is a source of fascination."  Of course the equation editing is tops and there are some nice supporting graphics as well.

Math Servers : This page from the American Mathematical Society states: "Access from here is to Web servers for university and college mathematics departments, other mathematical institutes and centers, and societies for mathematics and related disciplines. A number of other Web and Gopher servers are listed that give access to information about mathematics, mathematical institutions and mathematicians."

Philosophy

Episteme Links: Philosophy Resources on the Internet : EpistemeLinks.com includes thousands of sorted links to philosophy resources on the internet".

The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy : Organized as a search engine of one may choose a letter in the alphabet to explore what appears to be a plethora of information.

Encyclopaedia of Philosophy of Education.index : International page gives initial language option of English or Portugues and is edited by a Brazilian and New Zealander. The entries are organized alphabetically.

Online philosophy and philosophers resources.  : The author of this New Zealand page proclaims "This site focuses on informative, authoritative arts and humanities online resources provided by museums, academic instititions (sic), or simply by individuals who demonstrate some clear knowledge of their subject."  I feel it is less that intuitive to navigate through. On the Homepage, most red text is a link which becomes black text once it has been visited.. If you click the word ZerOland in the top left corner; that will get you to the site index page. It has extensive listings.  My perusal led me to many interesting web pages, including .edu, .org and .com sites, but the efficiency factor cannot be paramount in your journeys here.
